Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area.

Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal services.

Scope of Work

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Required Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • Required B.S.N., or M.S.N, or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years, required. This is effective April 18, 2023.
