Basketball League Assistant Director

Job DetailsJob Location: Webster Groves School District - Webster Groves, MO 63119Primary Objective: Work alongside the Elementary Basketball League Director to oversee and coordinate aspects of the Junior Statesmen Basketball Program to ensure a positive and safe experience for student athletes that will complement the overall educational program. The position collaborates with the BB League Director to provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for program coaches and student athletes, maintaining a focus on competence, character, inclusivity, and safety. Essential Functions: Assist with the planning, organizing, supervision and the overall operation of the Junior Statesmen Basketball League, including scheduling practices, games, tournaments, and special events Help to supervise and support Junior Basketball Coaches; providing mentorship, performance feedback, and compliance with district and league policies Work alongside the director of the program to oversee programming for about 600 student athletes; promoting a safe and inclusive environment Collaborate on developing and implementing goals, timelines, and plans while maintaining consistent communication between schools and families  Ensure completion of all required professional training, including Vector Solutions/Safe Schools Support moderate fundraising efforts for the program, ensuring transparency and adherence to district standards Assist with coordinating and ensuring the proper usage and maintenance of school gyms and basketball equipment when in use by program participants  Represent the program positively throughout the district community; with effective use of media  Work closely with BB League Director and Activities Directors to recruit, train and hire Junior Statesmen Coaches Other duties as assigned  Education: Bachelor degree required; coaching experience preferred Compensation: Stipend commensurate with education and experience Benefits: Not Eligible  FLSA Status: Non-exempt   WEBSTER GROVES SCHOOL DISTRICT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER & E-VERIFY PARTICIPANT WGSD District Code of ConductApplication Deadline: Until Filled
