Senior Edge Compute & Backend Engineer

Join a global delivery team working on a large-scale multi-CDN platform that powers high-performance media delivery for customers worldwide. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers to build, maintain, and evolve edge and backend systems that ensure reliable, low-latency asset delivery.

In this role, you’ll own features end to end from initial requirements through production, while contributing to the core infrastructure behind a global content delivery platform. The team focuses on edge behavior, CDN integrations, backend services, and custom solutions that support flexible media transformations and efficient global distribution.

What you’ll do

• Own technical solutions end to end, from discovery to production deployment.

• Act as a technical reference point for delivery infrastructure across internal teams and external partners.

• Develop and maintain internal microservices that support the delivery platform.

• Integrate third-party services and CDN providers, and build custom in-house solutions where needed.

• Participate in knowledge sharing, 2nd-tier support, and on-call rotations.

• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues raised by internal stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, or equivalent strong technical depth.

• Practical experience with major CDN providers such as Fastly, Cloudflare, Akamai, or CloudFront.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in complex environments.

• A data-driven mindset, using monitoring and warehouse tools to guide decisions.

Technical background

• Hands-on experience with CDN configuration and edge logic, including rewrite rules, redirect rules, routing behavior, cache rules, and related mechanisms.

• Experience developing for at least one major CDN platform using VCL, JavaScript, or similar edge-specific languages.

• Familiarity with Go and JavaScript is a plus, but deep understanding of CDN operations and edge logic is the key requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale distributed cloud architectures.

• Background integrating multiple CDN providers.

• Knowledge of AWS.
