3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
To carry out electrical remedial works, testing, inspection, and associated electrical maintenance activities within occupied and void social housing properties across the NNC authority area. The role requires a high standard of electrical workmanship, compliance with safety regulations, and participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete electrical remedial works within occupied and void social housing properties.
- Undertake electrical testing, inspection, and certification works.
- Carry out rewire works within void properties where required.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with relevant regulations and standards.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota (1 week in every 4 weeks).
- Maintain accurate records and provide required documentation for completed works.
- Work across sites within the NNC authority area, primarily Kettering and Corby.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including asbestos awareness requirements.
- Use own tools and equipment where applicable and maintain a professional standard of work.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Electrician, ideally within social housing environments.
- Strong experience in electrical testing and inspection is essential.
- Ability to complete remedial works and rewire works in void properties.
- Must hold and provide proof of:
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent qualification.
- City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to undertake CAT B asbestos training or provide existing certification.
- Own vehicle preferred, with mileage paid at 45p per mile, or use of a company vehicle may be available.
- Own standard power tools beneficial.
- Ability to participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
Additional Information
- Location: Site-based throughout the NNC authority area, mainly Kettering and Corby. Face-to-face interviews held at the depot in Corby or Kettering.
- Hours per week: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–4:30pm (30-minute break); Friday 8:30am–4:00pm (30-minute break). Call-out rota: 1 full week every 4 weeks.
