Job DetailsJob Location: BELLE GLADE, FL 33430Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: AgricultureGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Harvest Unit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the harvest unit, ensuring the efficient and safe harvesting of sugar cane. This includes managing personnel, coordinating logistics, maintaining equipment, and adhering to quality control and safety standards. The supervisor will work closely with grower-members, team leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective completion of all harvest activities.     SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:  Oversees harvesting operations, providing leadership and guidance to the team, and fostering a positive work environment. Managing employee performance through regular feedback and addressing issues. Ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation, maintaining quality control, and handling any employee concerns that may arise.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and manage the performance of harvest team members, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Develop and maintain harvest schedules, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely delivery of sugar cane to the mill. Oversee the maintenance and repair of harvesting equipment, ensuring all machinery is in safe and working condition. Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety are met. Collect, interpret, and analyze harvest data, including product availability, transport reliability, and supply chain metrics. Prepare and present performance reports. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including cane burning certification and safe harvesting practices. Facilitate clear and precise communication between the harvest team, grower-members, and other departments. Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively. Identify and resolve operational issues, implementing improvements to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Maintain accurate records of harvest activities, equipment usage, and personnel performance. Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by the Harvest Operations Manager. Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.     SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficiency in computer applications and data management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Bilingual and biliterate – English and Spanish preferred.     LICENSES / CERTIFICATION:  Class E (Regular) driver’s license, required.     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in logistics, agriculture, or a related field, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role preferred.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance during scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
