The Machinist I can operate most or all machines in the shop.
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
路 Operate a good variety of machine tool equipment such as a drill press, lathe, milling machine, CNC, and other hand and power machines.
路 Works from blueprints, sketches, production diagrams, engineering drawings and verbal instructions to fabricate a variety of machined components.
路 Makes certain shop calculations using handbook formulas to layout patterns and determine tooling feeds and speeds.
路 Does some inspection on parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
路聽May program some machines.
路聽Works with Lead to complete jobs on schedule and accurate.
路聽 Performs other job functions as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
路聽聽Some ability to read math and angles.
路聽 Good blueprint reading.
路聽聽Capable of performing some heavy labor, ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
路聽聽Good communication skills (verbal and written).
路聽 Good working knowledge of hand measuring and inspection tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
路聽High School/GED or higher education preferred
路聽聽0-2 years experience as a machinist; familiarity with CNC, Lathe and manual machines a plus
路聽Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
