THE ROLEÂ
We're hiring a Material Handler – Level 1 at our Utah Facility. You'll safely move, store, and transfer materials — including forklift operation, inventory support, and assembly assistance — as part of our Materials team.Â
WHAT YOU'LL DOÂ
- Consistently demonstrate safe material handling and warehouse practices, including safe forklift operation within Fabrication and Warehouse areasÂ
- Properly receive, move, stage, issue, and account for raw materials and production components, including picking, preparing, packing, and transferring for shipmentÂ
- Perform daily inspections of all powered lift trucks and verify safe operating conditionÂ
- Competently operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment, including bundling and palletizingÂ
- Accurately identify material types, part numbers, heat numbers, and inventory labelsÂ
- Maintain organized inventory locations and proper material storage practices, following FIFO and inventory control procedures where applicableÂ
- Perform basic ERP/WMS transactions accurately, including navigating Mendix for manufacturing/catalog picking and BPCS for warehouse pickingÂ
- Assist with assembly operations, including operating, monitoring, and inspecting assembly machines, tools, dip tanks, paint lines, impregnators, and related equipmentÂ
- Support quality assurance by inspecting and preparing materials/products for shipment, ensuring compliance with reliability and process control requirementsÂ
- Complete all daily checklists and TPMs, and ensure area 5S duties are completedÂ
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company safety standardsÂ
- Accurately document work performed, inspection findings, and time and materials usedÂ
- Communicate with Line Leads, Shift Supervisors, Engineers, and Planners on equipment issues and production needsÂ
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve workplace efficiency, eliminate waste, and improve qualityÂ
- Willing to unload trucks and transfer material from outside locations, including during inclement weather, and work overtime as business needs requireÂ
WHAT YOU NEEDÂ
- High school diplomaÂ
- Previous forklift operation/certificationÂ
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform tasks involving fine and gross motor skillsÂ
- Understanding and application of workplace safety proceduresÂ
- Good written and oral communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, self-motivated, and detail orientedÂ
- Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skillsÂ
NICE TO HAVEÂ
- Experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environmentÂ
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Windows software; ability to use manual and electronic inventory systemsÂ
- Familiarity with SWI/SOP processesÂ
- Good understanding of shop math andÂ
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)Â
COMPENSATIONÂ
The hourly pay range for this position is $20-24 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, and the full benefits package described aboveÂ
