Per Diem, Evening

Special Procedures Surgical Technician assists with the nursing care of the patients in the OR by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice and policy and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse at all times.  Other duties include stocking, replenishing, preparing, and/or selecting supplies and equipment for storage or use during surgical procedures.  Assists with housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the OR. Activities are directed toward achieving desired patient outcomes.   Demonstrates the ability to interpret information to identify the patient’s age specific needs and provides appropriate care for the age group in question. Employee may flex or float depending on business needs or directives of Supervisor. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education
- High school graduate or GED 
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent, or On The Job Training in Advanced Thoracic and Orthopedic procedures.

Licensure/Certifications
- Basic Life Support Certification in the field preferred

Minimum Experience
- Clinical experience of at least one year, or graduate of Surgical tech. Program.
