Hours: Part-time, day and night shifts; weekend, and holiday rotation; or PRN, hours vary as needed
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing patient care in regard to hygiene, mobility, comfort, psychosocial, spiritual and nutritional needs as well as assisting with admission, discharge, and transfers
- Carry out treatments, collection of specimens, vital signs, intake and output, and monitoring and emptying drainage devices
- Responsible for patient safety in regard to positioning mobility, bed rails, orientation and restraint use
- Perform clerical duties related to admission, discharge, status change, transfer and death
- Other duties expected but not limited to include: maintaining clean patient and work environments, stocking patient and work rooms and assembling patient charts, answering phones, providing family and visitor directions and helping physicians find chart reports
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures
- Responsible for fostering a team orientated atmosphere
QUALIFICATIONS:Â
Education and/or ExperienceÂ
- Currently attending High School or have a High School diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain Basic Life Support within probationary period
Other Competencies
- Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively
- Medium strength job classification with lifting of 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently and 10 lbs. constantly
- Possess level of fine motor skills to perform gripping, pinching, and grasping. Hearing and vision corrected to within normal limits
- Requires full range of body motion with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to change from one duty to another frequently
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet unit needs
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions exactly
- Ability to use computer for documentation
