Systems Engineer – Software EngineeringĀ 

Position SummaryĀ 

The Systems Engineer partners withĀ product management, business stakeholders,Ā solutionĀ architects, and software development teams to define and deliver software solutions that meet businessĀ objectives. This roleĀ is responsible forĀ translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements, developing system and software designs, and documenting the target-state architecture required to support future capabilities.Ā 

The Systems Engineer serves as the technical lead during solution definition, ensuring requirements are complete, architectures are scalable and maintainable, and software engineering teams have the technical direction needed to successfully implement complex capabilities.Ā 

ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders,Ā productĀ management, and software engineering teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional technical requirements.Ā Ā 

  • Develop end-to-end software solution designs, defineĀ and documentĀ current-state and target-state architectures, andĀ identifyĀ the changesĀ requiredĀ to achieve future capabilities.Ā Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ cross-team dependencies, technical risks, and architectural impacts across multiple software domains.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, scalabilityĀ objectives, and engineering best practices.Ā 

Minimum QualificationsĀ 

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.Ā Ā 

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, solution engineering, or software architecture.Ā Ā 

  • Experience leading requirements analysis andĀ useĀ case definition, and producing interface control documentation,Ā ConOpsĀ documentation,Ā and test plans.Ā 

  • Experience translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements for Agile software development teams.Ā Ā 

  • Experience developing software system designs and architecture documentation.Ā Ā 

  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, and modern software development practices.Ā Ā 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Ā Ā 

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.Ā Ā 

  • Preferred QualificationsĀ 

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.Ā Ā 

  • Experience withĀ DevSecOpsĀ practices and CI/CD pipelines.Ā Ā 

  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar engineering collaboration tools.Ā Ā 

  • INCOSE,Ā SAFe, AWS, Azure,Ā GCPĀ or other relevant technical certifications are preferred.Ā Ā 

Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

ā— The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $128,000.00 - $170,000.00 - $187,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
