SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced, organized, discreet, and versatile Housekeeper to oversee the daily upkeep and smooth operation of a private residence located in Hampstead, Montreal.
The successful candidate will ensure that the residence remains clean, well maintained, organized, and comfortable at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping and Household Organization
- Maintain the general cleanliness of all areas in use, including routine cleaning, dusting, and floor care.
- Perform deep cleaning as required, including bathrooms, showers, the oven, terrace, and balconies.
- Maintain overall household organization and ensure that living spaces are always clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Make beds and change bed linens as required.
- Organize and maintain storage areas, closets, and personal belongings.
- Rotate food items in the refrigerator and pantry.
- Take out, store, and organize seasonal clothing.
- Care for furniture, delicate surfaces, and items requiring special attention.
- Ensure that the residence remains functional, clean, and well organized at all times.
Laundry and Clothing Care
- Sort, wash, fold, and iron clothing.
- Provide general care for clothing and household textiles.
- Perform minor clothing repairs as required.
- Keep closets organized and tidy.
Household and Logistical Support
- Provide daily care for three (3) dogs.
- Handle dog walks, grooming appointments, veterinary visits, and related needs.
- Welcome contractors and service providers when work or maintenance is being performed at the residence.
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence when interacting with vendors and external service providers.
- Oversee work being performed when required and communicate any relevant information.
- Manage garbage, recycling, and related household tasks.
- Report any issues or situations requiring particular attention within the residence.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Housekeeper, Household Employee, or in the maintenance of a private residence.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both French and English.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Discreet, reliable, honest, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Proactive, meticulous, versatile, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Respect for confidentiality and the family’s private environment.
- Adaptable with a positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flexibility is required.
- Location: Westmount, Quebec.
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
- Residence accessible by public transportation.
- Parking available.
- Vehicle provided for work-related duties.
