Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer for our Wethersfield, CT office. As part of our Wastewater team qualified candidates will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on treatment process design and construction. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position will include high level of client development and management, supported by our local offices and New York City Corporate Headquarters. 
  • Support the development of technical treatment strategies, selection of treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects
  • Support coordination and collaboration with clients
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
  • Support planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater-related projects. 
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs 
  • Candidate shall also be able to support preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel

Required Qualifications:

  • minimum of 10 years of experience (a minimum of 20 preferred)
  • Minimum professional qualifications are a BS degree in environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering
  • PE license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role
