  • Candidates must be history majors, have completed a 300-level course, and be endorsed by a history faculty member, along with submitting a writing sample.
  • While the job does not specify a salary, it is important to note that more than one internship position may be available based on demand.

This applied history internship would give students the opportunity to research some of the 800 donors who have given money for scholarships for Wheaton College students about whom we know little.  The students would use archival research to produce a 1-page narrative about the donor to share with current scholarship recipients.  They would also research and craft narratives about the life of the history department, past and present and narrate that in public spaces.  Subjects of inquiry would include how history alumni (deceased and living) used their history majors with the goal of helping our current students envision the varied ways history alumni have used their training for Christ and his kingdom. Student workers would also create media about the current life of the history department; research, internship, and professional development opportunities for history majors; highlighting student and faculty achievements; narrating the ways students are being transformed in their study of history at Wheaton College.

Requirements:

  • Interns must be a history major
  • You must have taken a 300-level class
  • You must be endorsed by a history faculty member
  • Please include a writing sample in your application.
  • More than one position may be available depending on availability.
