Job Description Summary:

Working as a team, responsible for the spiritual care and well-being of our guests including patient, families, volunteers and staff. Responsible for planning, coordinating, recruiting, training, and education of volunteers and ministers to provide pastoral care for our guests. Provide direct pastoral care to our guests and our community as needed. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops plan of action to be implemented within the hospital to meet the spiritual needs of the patients, families, staff, volunteers and community.
  • Develops and implements recruiting of lay volunteers and ministers to assist with pastoral care within the hospital.
  • Participates in hospital committees/functions as deemed necessary by WTH and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Provides sacerdotal functions, religious services, etc. when appropriate and/or requested.
  • Provides pastoral care to patients, families, volunteers, and staff when identified.
  • Provides short-term and crisis intervention for hospital employees.
  • Provides educational programs for community and/or clergy.
  • Provides articles for hospital publications as requested.
  • Participates in special events as planned by pastoral care, JMCGH, Customer Excellence, i.e. holiday devotionals.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum 4 year degree in ministry or other related field and seminary degree.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • Licensed and ordained minister.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least two years of parish experience. Experience in clinical pastoral education is helpful, but not required.
