A private family in the Whitwell / Chattanooga, TN area is looking for a warm, sharp, Spanish-fluent educator to run their children's home learning rhythm, care for the kids through the afternoon and evening, and help keep the household running. In about spring 2028, the family relocates to Nashville, and they'd love for you to come along and grow with the family for years to come.
Full-time, W-2 · 5 days/week, 12:00–8:00 PM · $70,000–$95,000 base
Why this role exists
The family is homeschooling. Their daughter (3) is extremely bright, bilingual, and ready for more intentional learning. Their son is a newborn, and the family is growing. You'll become the constant in the kids' lives: the one who carries their learning, Spanish, and daily routines through the move to Nashville and beyond.
The parents design the framework and household systems (supported by AI tools), and Mom teaches some too. You're the capable partner who runs it every day and makes smart calls inside that framework.
What the job actually is
This is a full-time role, but it isn't 8 hours of teaching. A 3-year-old needs about 90 minutes of structured learning a day. The rest is learning-rich care, fun activities, and household work done alongside the kids. Gardening, baking, a trip to the zoo: learning is built into all of it.
Learning
Run a daily rhythm of about 90 minutes of structured, screen-free learning from plans you build together with the parents
Turn the rest of the day into learning: outings, building and making, reading, nature, practical life
Keep Spanish immersion going every day
Log progress in ClickUp (voice notes are fine)
As more kids reach school age, the teaching share of the role grows. Same hours, different mix.
Care
Full care of the kids through the afternoon, dinner, and bedtime routines
Partner closely with the family's nanny, who watches the babies
Household partner
Household work the kids can join, Montessori-style: cooking kids' snacks and dinner from scratch, folding laundry, errands, garden, trip packing
Own home inventory: on-site counts and ordering (pantry, household, kids' supplies)
Organizing and light household ops; focused admin happens when the nanny has the kids or after bedtime
Travel support: packing and unpacking, plus occasional family trips (about 1–2 a year)
Not part of this role: deep cleaning, adult dinners, lawn care, bills, or vendor accounts. Those are all handled by others.
Schedule
5 days a week, 12:00–8:00 PM (lunch through bedtime)
Sunday–Thursday preferred; final days confirmed at offer
Live-out for now. A live-in option (private in-law suite) is planned for a future, larger home.
What you bring
Fluent Spanish. This is non-negotiable; you'll carry the kids' immersion.
You cook simple, whole-food meals for kids
Real aptitude for early-childhood learning: homeschool, Montessori, private teaching, Alpha School-style guiding, or equivalent. Credentials are a plus but not required when references are strong.
Willing to relocate with the family (most likely to Nashville) and commit to 5+ years
Organized and proactive. You follow systems and checklists and use sound judgment day to day.
Comfortable using AI tools and ClickUp (voice-first is fine; no need to be technical)
A direct, clear communicator who welcomes feedback, is discreet, and keeps things low drama
Energy for an active, hands-on role with young kids
The family's home is faith-centered, healthy, and family-first, and they're looking for someone who will feel at home in that rhythm.
Nice to have
Montessori, homeschool, or behavioral psychology background
Gardening, chickens, or nature-based learning (the family is investing in raised beds and animals)
Experience supporting busy, high-functioning families with systems and travel
What success looks like
90 days: The daily learning rhythm is running, you own the inventory, and household partner tasks are handled without reminders.
12 months: The parents have real relief, learning is consistent, and the move to Nashville goes smoothly with the kids' rhythms intact.
5 years: The kids are reading, curious, well-behaved, and growing in character and practical skills, and you're a trusted part of the family.
Compensation & benefits
$70,000–$95,000 base salary, depending on experience and teaching aptitude
Yearly retention increase
Paid time off
Meals during shifts
Travel expenses covered when traveling with the family
Complimentary stays at a luxury treehouse retreat
Future live-in option (housing + meals) once the family moves into the larger home
