FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Raleigh, North Carolina | Full-Time | Up to 50% Travel


About the Role:
TEWS of America Corp., based in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional technical service and support to customers throughout the United States and internationally, as required. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with advanced industrial measurement technology, receive specialized training on TEWS proprietary systems, and support leading manufacturers across a variety of process industries.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for equipment commissioning, customer training, troubleshooting, feasibility studies, calibration support, preventive maintenance, and repair activities. The successful candidate will be technically capable, customer-focused, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently at customer manufacturing facilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

路聽 聽 聽 聽Deliver a high level of customer service by responding professionally and promptly to customer needs and working to meet service expectations.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Provide on-site and remote technical support for TEWS measurement systems, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and performance evaluation.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Provide equipment installation guidance and perform commissioning of in-line moisture and density measurement systems in manufacturing environments, as well as provide guidance regarding TEWS laboratory systems.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Assist customers with the development, validation, and optimization of calibration models for their specific products and process conditions.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Diagnose equipment and system issues; identify and coordinate the appropriate replacement parts, tools, or technical resources required to complete repairs and routine maintenance; and coordinate with TEWS ELEKTRONIK technical personnel in Germany when additional guidance is required.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Train customer production managers, quality personnel, engineering staff, and maintenance personnel in the proper use, application, care, and basic troubleshooting of TEWS equipment and software.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Establish, coordinate, and maintain service visit schedules to support timely delivery of customer service and technical support.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Document service activities, post-visit findings, recommendations, parts requirements, and follow-up actions accurately and promptly.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Communicate effectively with customers and internal TEWS personnel regarding technical findings, service status, scheduling, and required next steps.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Continuously improve technical knowledge through TEWS training, manufacturer documentation, individual study, and hands-on experience.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Demonstrate sound technical judgment, including recognizing when additional technical guidance is required and coordinating with TEWS ELEKTRONIK engineering and technical personnel before providing recommendations to customers.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Communicate technical concerns, limitations, and recommendations accurately without making unauthorized commitments regarding equipment performance, modifications, pricing, warranty, or commercial terms.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment while representing TEWS at customer facilities.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Comply with TEWS and customer safety requirements while working in manufacturing and industrial environments.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Maintain strict confidentiality regarding customer facilities, manufacturing processes, equipment, product information, technical data, and TEWS proprietary information, and comply with applicable customer confidentiality, photography, electronic-device, and information-security requirements.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Be comfortable with domestic and international travel throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Germany.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Comfortable communicating with customers and colleagues by telephone, email, video conference, and in person.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work responsibly across a variety of customer manufacturing sites. Prior OSHA or equivalent industrial safety training is preferred; TEWS-required safety training will be provided.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Professional judgment and customer-service orientation when working independently in the field.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Spanish-language proficiency is beneficial but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

路聽 聽 聽 聽Bachelor's degree or Master鈥檚 degree in engineering or a related technical discipline IS REQUIRED. Process, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering disciplines are preferred. LPE, PE, CMfgE, or other certifications very much desirable.

路聽 聽 聽 聽MINIMUM five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Demonstrated experience with quality-control systems and electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial measurement instruments or similar process-control equipment.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Working knowledge of industrial control and communication systems such as QCS, PLC, DCS, MQTT, and EtherNet/IP is strongly preferred.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight domestic and international travel throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Germany.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Valid passport and ability to travel internationally for customer equipment commissioning, service assignments, and TEWS equipment training.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel internationally, including travel to Germany for training and business purposes.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to work in active manufacturing environments and comply with site-specific safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and access requirements.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to travel by automobile and commercial aircraft and to work at customer sites for extended periods when required.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to safely handle typical field-service tools, instrumentation, computers, and equipment components associated with installation, commissioning, and service work.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to perform field-service activities that may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and working around operating manufacturing equipment.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Demonstrated understanding of safe lifting and material-handling practices, including recognition of lifting hazards and use of appropriate assistance or mechanical aids when necessary.

路聽 聽 聽 聽Experience working within industrial safety programs, including site safety, PPE, emergency procedures, hazardous-energy/lockout-tagout awareness, chemical safety, machine guarding, electrical safety, fall prevention, confined-space awareness, incident reporting, material handling, and hot-work awareness. Employees are not expected to perform specialized or regulated work outside their training, authorization, or qualification.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting salary of $75,000+, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus company benefits. A signing bonus may be considered for candidates with demonstrated experience in industrial moisture/density measurement technology or a closely related instrumentation field.
