Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for the daily operations of the café. Key responsibilities include welcoming guests, preparing and serving coffee and food items, merchandising retail products, and ensuring a clean, organized and inviting environment. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Part Time, Onsite Position

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm, engaging welcome to all customers and deliver personalized, attentive service.
  • Prepare food and beverage orders in accordance with standard recipes or guest preferences, accommodating substitutions, temperature adjustments, and presentation.
  • Offer product knowledge, such as coffee origin or flavor notes, when appropriate.
  • Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process transactions, and handle payments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cafĂ© environment, including routine cleaning of brewing equipment, dishwashing, and waste disposal.
  • Support daily opening and closing procedures, including safety checks, cash handling, and completion of operational checklists.
  • Receive, unpack, categorize, price, and display merchandise and cafĂ© supplies; monitor inventory levels and alert management when restocking is required.
  • Ensure all customer-facing areas, such as displays, counters, and seating, are tidy, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced setting, remaining composed and efficient during peak hours.
  • Promote featured or seasonal items by offering samples and providing enthusiastic, informative explanations to customers.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and operational policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service or the food and beverage industry is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as business needs require.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and product instructions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both guests and team members.
  • Must obtain Food Handler’s Certification after hire.
