Events Bartender & Server
Position Summary
The Williamsburg Winery is seeking reliable and hospitality-focused team members to support weddings, private events, and winery functions. This position requires individuals who are comfortable both bartending and serving food throughout an event.
Team members will assist with the full event process, including setup, food and beverage service, guest assistance, breakdown, and cleanup. This is a part-time position with most shifts occurring during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up tables, chairs, linens, bars, buffets, and beverage stations
- Bartend event bars and serve wine, beer, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Provide responsible and professional alcohol service
- Serve plated meals, buffets, and passed hors d’oeuvres
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately
- Run food, clear dishes, bus tables, and reset service areas
- Provide friendly and attentive service to guests
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked event spaces
- Assist with event breakdown, dish handling, sweeping, mopping, and cleanup
- Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and workplace safety requirements
- Complete required alcohol service certifications and training
- Perform additional event-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to perform both bartending and food-service responsibilities
- Previous bartending, serving, hospitality, or event experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced wedding and event environment
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to follow direction
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic food safety and sanitation knowledge preferred
- Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcohol
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for shifts lasting up to eight or more hours
- Ability to lift, carry, and move approximately 40–50 pounds
- Comfortable bending, reaching, lifting, and working both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Schedule Requirements
- Part-time, event-based schedule
- Must have flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work extended or late hours based on event schedules

Compensation
- $5.00 per hour plus tips
- Guaranteed minimum earnings of $20.00 per hour
- Opportunities to earn additional incentives through Wine Club membership sign-ups
