About This Role

Manufacturing engineering (ME) is a creative activity. The ME is responsible for managing the design, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, programming of equipment and products, and recommending capital improvements in our manufacturing, assembly, and test areas. ME鈥檚 are required to have expertise in a wide range of manufacturing technologies including computer and management control systems including project management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide manufacturing engineering support to operations including day-to-day problem solving and maintenance of all process documentation

聽聽聽聽聽聽 CNC machining responsibilities including specifying tooling, overseeing tool design activities related to CNC programming, tool offsets, feeds/speeds, and tool/fixture/gage designs

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Implement cost reduction by working closely with engineering, manufacturing and other disciplines to reduce scrap and waste, and evaluate/improve assembly and manufacturing methods

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop manufacturing routings

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Determine equipment needs and create cost justification

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in equipment validation

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manage projects

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain records and schedules of work assigned

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform process validation and machine capability studies

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supervise/oversee highly skilled, technical employees



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experienced and educated in the creation of and the ability to read/understand blueprints including a working knowledge of GD&T

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of Cad Cam for designing, manufacturing, and assembling

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in the area of manufacturing operations: milling, turning, grinding, finishing, assembling

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Programming knowledge

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Good oral and written communication skills

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to prioritize and work independently

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of process improvement methodologies including machine capability and process control

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies

Qualifications:聽

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3-5 years experience in Manufacturing and Engineering in an assembly/manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement/lean/capital projects
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player

Additional Competencies Required:

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Teamwork approach; ability to resolve conflicts; strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; ability and willingness to travel as necessary and knowledge of GD&T and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.聽
