Ametek Aerospace & Defense is looking for a strong Development Engineering Technician to work in our Wilmington, MA facility.  Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work in an aggressive, fast-paced, and flexible environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will support the Sensors & Fluid Management Systems Business Unit in Wilmington, MA. Responsibilities include: 

  • Perform tests on aerospace sensor products.
  • Prepare data for all product development activities and analyze performance.
  • Maintain neat and clean laboratory area and ensure functionality of all equipment.
  • Construct prototype products, cabling, and test equipment.
  • Design tooling and fixturing as required.
  • Install and analyze all test equipment for qualification.
  • Perform and implement various tests on new products.
  • Provide technical support to all design engineers
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs.  The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs

 

EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electronics technology preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of software including Microsoft Excel, NI LabVIEW, Keysight Benchlink Data Logger, NI Signal Express
  • SolidWorks and Altium experience
  • Prototype construction, soldering, and machining skills
  • J-STD-001 Class 3 Soldering

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Open to continuous change with the ability to learn new skills
  • Proven hands-on capability in the workplace
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, strong work ethic, self-advocate
  • Strong communication skills, including a strong English language capability

 

Due to contracts with the US Government, candidate must be either a US Citizen or Greencard holder
