We provide a premier alpine experience defined by exceptional terrain, minimal lift lines, and a personalized, high-quality approach to skiing and riding. Our mission is to cultivate a lifelong passion for snowsports through excellence in instruction, coaching, and member experience. Job Description The Race Coach is responsible for delivering high-quality ski racing instruction to youth and teen athletes, with a focus on athlete development, on-snow coaching, and maintaining a structured, positive training environment. This role supports the Head Race Coach in executing the goals and objectives of the Hermitage Club Race Program. The ideal candidate will bring prior coaching experience and hold US Ski & Snowboard certifications. Key Responsibilities Lead on-snow training sessions for assigned race groups Provide technical and tactical instruction in GS, SL, and free-ski environments Support athlete development through structured, goal-oriented coaching Assist with course setup, maintenance, and daily training environment preparation Participate in race-day support, including setup, timing assistance, and teardown Communicate professionally with athletes regarding goals, progress, and expectations Collaborate with head race coach staff and Snowsports Management to support program goals Maintain a safe, positive, and organized training environment Support the overall member experience through responsiveness, professionalism, and program knowledge, both on and off property when traveling to sanctioned Hermitage Club events. Safety & Supervision Ensure athlete safety at all times during training and free-skiing Supervise athletes on lifts, trails, and in training venues Manage athlete well-being, including warm-ups, breaks, hydration, and fatigue awareness. Enforce helmet and club all safety policies Assist with safe athlete release procedures Team Collaboration Work cooperatively with Snowsports Management and Head Race coach on the program's execution and improvements Support race event operations as part of the race crew, including but not limited to: course set-up, breakdown, timing, and course execution Assist with staff coordination and on-hill coverage as needed Contribute to a positive, team-oriented coaching culture Assist in broader Snowsports operations as needed QualificationsMinimum Requirements Minimum age of 16 Active US Ski and Snowboard level 100 coaching certification or higher Strong skiing ability across multiple disciplines Availability on weekends and holidays Ability to travel for local race events Successful background check High school diploma or equivalent Must have own equipment Preferred Attributes Previous race coaching or instructional experience Understanding of athlete development principles Strong professionalism and member-service mindset Flexibility to support varied training needs, group changes, and schedule adjustments Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to ski, stand, and remain active for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs regularly, often on steep and uneven terrain Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods in winter alpine conditions, including inclement weather The Hermitage Club is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
