Immediate Opening on 3rd Shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am) Sunday - Thurs. - Must be able to work overtime if needed.

 

 Major Areas of Responsibilities

  • Manufacture Corrugated Cartons
  • Responsible for the machine crews’ daily activities, accountable for machine and crew performance as they relate to waste, efficiency and quality and uptime objectives.
  • Will direct the work of the machine crew and provide training for new team members

Primary Objectives

  • Set up, adjust and run flat bed die cut presses and ancillary equipment for production runs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure its optimum operation.
  • Troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance repairs as needed.


Specific Responsibilities of the Job

  • Interpret job order information, specs and requirements.
  • Ensures all machine set-ups are done correctly.
  • Directs crew’s activities to ensure efficient production.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, waste, production time, preventive maintenance etc.
  • Performs duties as requested by supervisor and plant manager.
  • Ensure that production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Adhere to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
  • Monitor Quality
  • Performs various other job duties and projects as assigned.
  • It is the responsibility of all Ideal employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proven track record of improving machine efficiencies in a production environment.
  • Experience in flat bed die cutting and or corrugated packaging environments.
  • Experience with cutting die repair, matrix, and structural design preferred
  • Proven process control background
  • High level computer literacy skills necessary
  • Demonstrated analytical experience
  • Experience with equipment operation and safety guidelines
  • Must be team-oriented, organized, detailed, and able to perform some physical activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • White or Green Belt Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Must be able to foster team work

 

Job Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in temperature extremes from 40 degrees to 120 degrees inside facility for several hours continuously.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull 50 lbs.

 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous machine operator experience preferred.
