Student-Biology Assistant

Job DetailsJob Location: Salem Academy and College - Winston Salem, NC 27101The Biology Lab Assistant supports the Biology Department by assisting faculty with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of teaching laboratories. This position provides students with hands-on laboratory experience while helping ensure biology labs operate safely and efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare laboratory materials, specimens, and equipment for class activities. Set up and clean up biology laboratories before and after lab sessions. Clean, organize, and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces. Monitor laboratory supply inventory and notify faculty when materials need to be replenished. Assist with basic laboratory procedures under faculty supervision. Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working environment. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Biology Department. Qualifications: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality when appropriate. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods while performing laboratory tasks. Qualifications
