We are seeking an experienced Business Office Director who is passionate about people, culture, and operational excellence. This role serves as the community's primary Human Resources leader while also overseeing key business office functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, budget oversight, and other financial operations.

In addition, the Business Office Director provides leadership, coaching, and oversight for the Concierge team, ensuring an exceptional first impression and hospitality experience for residents, families, visitors, and team members.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll administration, accounting and business office operations, and employee engagement, with the ability to balance people leadership and financial stewardship.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Business Office Director helps ensure a positive employee experience, supports regulatory compliance, drives talent strategies, promotes a workplace culture aligned with our mission, values, and Hospitality Promises, and helps deliver exceptional service to residents and their families.

What You'll Do

Human Resources Leadership 

As the community's HR leader, you'll create an exceptional employee experience while supporting organizational goals and workforce success.

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner and advisor to leaders and team members.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding top talent.
  • Create engaging onboarding experiences that set team members up for long-term success.
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, retention, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Manage employee records and HRIS updates, including status changes and employment documentation.
  • Administer benefits, leave programs, workers' compensation, and employee life-cycle processes.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and staffing strategies.
  • Analyze and report on key HR metrics including turnover, retention, recruiting, and engagement trends.

Payroll & Financial Reporting 

  • Oversee payroll processing and related reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support department leaders with timekeeping and payroll practices.
  • Process employee status, compensation, and benefit changes accurately and timely.
  • Review employee expense reports and business office documentation.
  • Serve as a resource regarding purchasing, invoice coding, and budget-related procedures.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure timely invoice management.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support Concierge team members, developing an strong culture of hospitality according to the LCS Hospitality Promises.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support.
  • Foster a hospitality-driven culture centered on service excellence and resident satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budget management. 
  • Experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, payroll administration, and compliance.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment practices, employee engagement, and payroll processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-site/multi-department experience.
  • Experience serving as an HR business partner to operational leaders.
