About the Role

Vital Delivery Solutions (VDS) has been the backbone of healthcare logistics in New England since 1987. What began as a single route has grown into a network of 300+ daily routes, 225+ company-owned vehicles, and 350+ uniformed professional drivers — making VDS the region’s largest same-day delivery operation and a trusted partner to top healthcare networks, clinical laboratories, hospital pharmacies, and blood banks across VT, NH, ME, MA, and NY.

VDS offers healthcare clients a uniquely integrated value proposition: a single delivery partner that can consolidate lab, pharmacy, supply chain, and STAT courier needs across an entire health system — eliminating the waste and inefficiency of siloed departmental delivery arrangements. Our 24/7/365 operations, real-time electronic proof of delivery, HIPAA-compliant drivers, and climate-controlled warehousing give customers the reliability and compliance infrastructure that mission-critical healthcare logistics demands.

Backed by Copley Equity Partners since late 2025, VDS is now accelerating its expansion deeper into healthcare, laboratory, and mission-critical delivery markets. We are hiring a Senior Sales Executive to lead that charge in the Northeast corridor — reporting directly to the CEO, with the mandate to open major new institutional accounts and the resources to back it up.

What You’ll Do

Business Development & Pipeline Ownership

  • Own end-to-end new business development across hospital systems, IDNs, independent and reference labs, blood banks, hospital pharmacies, and specialty clinics across CT, NJ, MA, NY, and adjacent Northeast markets.
  • Sell the full VDS service portfolio: dedicated daily route networks, STAT on-demand courier, lab specimen transport, pharmaceutical distribution, supply chain delivery consolidation, and climate-controlled warehousing.
  • Lead with VDS’s integrated “one-network” value proposition — helping health systems consolidate fragmented departmental delivery arrangements (lab, pharmacy, supply chain) into a single, cost-saving VDS partnership.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline from outreach through close, with accurate CRM records and weekly forecasting to the CEO.
  • Develop and execute a territory plan with 90-day, 6-month, and 12-month revenue milestones.
  • Lead RFP responses, pricing proposals, and contract negotiations with procurement, supply chain, and C-suite stakeholders.

Relationship Management

  • Leverage existing relationships with lab directors, pharmacy directors, materials management leaders, and supply chain VPs to open doors and accelerate deal cycles.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients on HIPAA-compliant courier operations, STAT and dedicated route design, and real-time electronic proof-of-delivery infrastructure.
  • Partner with VDS operations leadership to ensure seamless onboarding, route design, and service delivery for new accounts.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships that expand VDS’s footprint within existing accounts — converting a single department into a full health system partnership.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Identify competitive intelligence, pricing dynamics, and market feedback to inform service development and go-to-market strategy as VDS expands from New England into CT, NJ, and the broader Northeast.
  • Represent VDS at regional healthcare industry events, GPO conferences, and lab/pharmacy trade associations.
  • Contribute to marketing collateral, case studies, and reference account development to support the company’s broader sales infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 5–10+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3 years selling into hospital systems, IDNs, clinical labs, or adjacent healthcare institutional buyers.
  • Direct experience selling logistics, courier, supply chain, or healthcare services
  • Demonstrated track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with average contract values of $250K+ annually.
  • Active, portable relationships with decision-makers at Northeast health systems, labs, or hospital supply chain organizations.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and a disciplined approach to pipeline management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Hunter mentality: you are energized by prospecting and opening new accounts, not just managing existing relationships.
  • Deep fluency in healthcare procurement cycles and hospital supply chain decision-making.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate operational service specs into compelling value propositions for clinical and financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent executive presence and written communication; comfortable presenting to C-suite and board-level audiences.
  • Self-starter who can operate with minimal infrastructure and build processes from the ground up.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, CAP/CLIA laboratory compliance, or cold-chain/time-sensitive specimen handling requirements.
  • Existing relationships at major Northeast health systems (Yale New Haven, Mass General Brigham, RWJBarnabas, Hartford Healthcare, etc.).
  • Experience selling into GPO contracts (Vizient, Premier, HealthTrust).

Compensation

  • Base:  150,000.
  • Commission:  Blended plan with quotas and kickers based on a gross profit matrix
