Overview

The Senior Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position combines hands-on service with functional supervision of environmental services staff to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met in assigned areas.

Education

Experience

  • Maintain assigned areas and equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

  • Perform tasks such as cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing patient rooms, hallways, common areas, and workspaces.

  • Provide functional supervision by assigning daily tasks to Environmental Services staff and ensuring work is completed to quality standards.

  • Train and orient new team members, serving as a resource for ongoing support and guidance.

  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of staff work to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement and customer service initiatives.

  • Respond promptly to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and requests for service from clinical staff.

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to supervise and support a team. A detail-oriented individual who can maintain high cleanliness standards in a healthcare environment.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and provide clear guidance to staff. Knowledge of infection prevention practices and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
