We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee large-scale multifamily and mixed-use construction projects (100+ units) in the Greater Worcester area. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys being in the field, solving complex challenges, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Design & Construction, you will serve as the owner's on-site representative throughout the construction process.

What You'll Do

As the Construction Manager, you will:

  • Serve as the owner's on-site representative throughout construction.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and contracts with the General Contractor.
  • Conduct daily quality control inspections and monitor construction progress.
  • Coordinate consultant testing agencies and inspection engineers.
  • Oversee construction schedules, budgets, and project milestones.
  • Monitor public and private utility installations to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), Change Orders (COs), payment requisitions, and project closeout.
  • Generate weekly project status reports and maintain action item logs.
  • Ensure construction quality, site safety, and security standards are met.
  • Oversee punch list completion and project turnover to Property Management.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, municipalities, permitting agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with community hiring initiatives and M/WBE participation goals.
  • Proactively identify issues, recommend solutions, and keep leadership informed of project status.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Construction management experience on large-scale multifamily or mixed-use developments (100+ residential units).
  • Experience working for a General Contractor; experience with a real estate developer is highly preferred.
  • Experience with mid-rise and/or high-rise apartment construction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work full-time on construction sites in the Greater Worcester area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with affordable housing developments.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Primavera scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of public and private housing financing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and other affordable housing subsidy programs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
