Full-Time High School Security Officer – Berks County

KRE Security is seeking a dependable and professional Overnight School Security Officer to help protect and secure school buildings, property, and grounds throughout the overnight hours.

What You'll Do

This position is responsible for conducting routine interior and exterior patrols, monitoring school facilities, identifying security concerns, and helping ensure that all school properties remain safe, secure, and protected when students and staff are not present. Officers serve as a visible security presence and play a critical role in safeguarding district assets and responding appropriately to potential security issues.

Responsibilities

As an Overnight School Security Officer, your responsibilities include:

Conducting regular interior and exterior patrols of school buildings, athletic facilities, parking areas, and grounds.
Performing vehicle patrols of multiple school properties throughout the district.
Checking doors, gates, windows, and other access points to ensure facilities remain secure.
Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance issues, or unauthorized individuals on school property.
Serving as a visible security presence to deter trespassing, vandalism, theft, and other criminal activity.
Responding appropriately to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security-related incidents.
Monitoring school property during overnight hours and adverse weather conditions.
Documenting patrol activities, incidents, and observations in daily activity reports.
Communicating with supervisors, law enforcement, emergency responders, and school representatives as needed.
Following all client directives, site-specific post orders, and company policies and procedures

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, observant, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours. Successful officers take pride in protecting school facilities and maintaining a safe, secure environment for students, staff, and the community.

We're looking for someone who is:

At least 21 years of age
Possesses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Dependable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working independently for extended periods
Alert, observant, and detail-oriented
Able to perform extensive interior, exterior, and vehicle patrols
Comfortable working outdoors during all weather conditions
Capable of responding calmly and appropriately to security concerns and emergencies
Able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
Able to accurately complete reports and required documentation
Committed to maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor

Security, education, customer service, military, law enforcement, or other public-facing experience is a plus, but reliability, professionalism, communication, and the right attitude matter just as much.

Required Background Checks & Training

Because this position is located in a school environment, the selected candidate must be willing to:

Complete all required background checks and clearances.
Complete all training mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for School Security Officers.
Maintain all required certifications, clearances, and training throughout employment.

Full-time Sunday–Thursday schedule
