Hospitalist Physician Per diem at St. Joseph's M.C.

Physician Practice Enhancement is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Per Diem Hospitalist to join our inpatient medicine team at St. Joseph's Medical Center. This position provides high-quality, evidence-based care to hospitalized adult patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes and patient experiences. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering compassionate, efficient, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment.  Must do procedures, central lines and intubation. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Perform patient admissions, daily rounds, consultations, and discharges.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, case managers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Comply with all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and clinical protocols.
• Provide cross-coverage for hospitalist colleagues as needed during assigned shifts.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
• DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a 

• Flexible per diem scheduling.
• Collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team.
