Job DetailsJob Location: Zephyrhills, FL 33542Position Type: Per DiemBusiness Title: - CERTIFIED SCRUB TECH PRN Job Purpose: - The Certified Scrub Tech PRN provides assistance in the operating room by performing a variety of duties including preparing the operating room, ensuring the availability of instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team during procedures. This role is on a PRN (as-needed) basis. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile. - Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques. - Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies as requested. - Assist in positioning and draping patients. - Handle specimens and surgical instruments according to established protocols. - Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after each procedure. - Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies used. - Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care, safety, and infection control. - Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team. - Participate in continuing education activities to maintain current knowledge and skills. - Perform other duties as assigned by the surgical team or supervisor.QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent - Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program - Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required Experience: - Minimum of one year of experience as a scrub technician in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting. - Demonstrated proficiency in surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and surgical procedures. - Experience with a variety of surgical specialties preferred. Required Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment. - Ability to maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team. - Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations. - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients and equipment. - Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for PRN coverage.
