My client are a prestigious government organisation based in Fareham, Hampshire. They're seeking a Business Analyst - on a contract up until the end of March with probable extensions - to join the Transformation Integrated Shared Services Division (TISS). BA'S work closely with business area across the organisation to identify opportunities to deliver change with a clear focus on people, process, technology, and data and support ongoing transformation work.

The role has been deemed inside IR35.Core to being an effective Business Analyst is:Understanding user and business needsBreaking those needs out into constituent partsAnalysing multiple solutionsSupporting the communication and delivery of a solution to meet the user needsAnalytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skillsResponsibilitiesLeading and managing investigations into business processes, functions, information flows, data structures and software development processesDefining improvements to business processesLeading, understanding and communicating the bigger pictureInfluencing, facilitating, and communicatingEliciting requirements using appropriate techniquesDelivering at pace, using agile methodologies and principles where appropriateCreating requirements documentation to high standards.

Assisting decision makers in gathering information to make informed decisionsHelping to quality assure test solutions and productsHighly desirable:Waterfall/Agile working - familiar with working in and across Waterfall and Agile methods including ability to adapt to a hybrid method.

Able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.

Helps the team to decide the best approach.

Able to help teams to manage and visualise outcomesBusiness analysis - investigates problems and analyses options for new and existing services.

Works with stakeholders to identify objectives, opportunities, and potential benefits available.Business improvement process - able to analyse current services and processesRequirements definition and managementStakeholder relationship managementUser focus - able to use quantitative and qualitative data
