The RoleThe role of the Management Accountant will report to the Divisional Finance Manager. The role involves taking ownership in the production of accurate and timely financial transactions and reports in addition to maintaining the business's accounting records for the Division. It will also involve providing support to Accounts Clerk.

Our drive for sustainability, value and ever-changing building and environmental legislation means that innovative and unique solutions are required. Most of the employees employed within these teams have either an architectural or engineering background, and this role will offer the opportunity to gain expertise in design and project management.

Principal accountabilities of the role include:Prepare monthly management accounts and reconciliations.Prepare monthly journals and account analysis and assist with financial year end and audit work.Prepare weekly cashflow, bank reconciliations and supervise payments.

Ensure that Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and any risks highlighted to the Finance Manager.Prepare divisional reporting returns for (VAT, CIS, Carbon Reporting etc) for Finance Manager review and approval.Maintenance of KPI & analysis schedules as requested by Finance Manager.

Maintenance of sales ledger including monthly sales reconciliation.Be a point of contact for financial queriesAssist the Finance Manager to implement business process improvements.Provide cover for various duties within the department.Completing various returns and requests for information, as required.

Experience, Qualifications and SkillsExperienceExperience of working in Housebuilding / Construction essential.Experience of working with accountancy software.Working knowledge of COINS is desirable but not essential. Qualifications and TrainingAccounting/Finance HNC, HND or DegreeQualified accountant (ACCA,CIMA,CA or similar) Skills and AptitudeGood interpersonal skills.

Excellent organisation and administration skills, including good attention to detailAbility to work on own as well as part of a team including Senior Management and Group functionsWorks effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneouslyProficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systemsCommitted to diversity and inclusion
