CK Group are recruiting for a Site Chemist to work at a busy waste transfer station on a permanent basis

Location:
You will be working at a busy waste transfer station in Middlesbrough.

Chemist Role:
Reporting into the Site Manager, you will be responsible for accepting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, in accordance with relevant legislation and site permits.

Your main duties will be:

• Carrying out chemical analysis on incoming loads using a range of wet chemistry techniques.
• Ensuring that all legislative, health and safety and quality documentation is completed in a timely fashion.
• Laboratory housekeeping, ordering stock and consumables and ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated.

Your Background:
To be considered for the position you should be self-sufficient, but able to work as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills. You should be qualified to a minimum of HND (ideally BSc) in Chemistry, or another relevant subject, with a very hands-on approach to work. Experience of working in a waste management environment would be highly beneficial for this position, although not essential as training will be provided.
