Transport Supervisor

We are seeking a Transport Supervisor to join a national logistics company, in their depot based in Newmarket. This role is part of a night shift team, responsible for the main volume of goods processing and dispatch, paying a salary between �28,000 - �33,500 per annum, plus employee benefits (D.O.E).

This company is ideally seeking a current Transport Coordinator looking to take a next step or Transport Supervisor, for what is a busy operations office, with a fleet of 20 LGVs moving per shift. The business operates seven nights per week, with this role based on a rota, any five nights from seven.

Job requirements and duties:

• Ability to understand general driver regulations and laws to ensure these are being adhered to by all staff members
• Dispatch Drivers as well as accepting and handling the paperwork for goods in
• Downloading of Drivers tachograph before they start work to check they are able to drive in accordance with working time directive and regulations.
• Escalate any vehicle faults or Driver infringements to the shift manager and Transport Manager to ensure they can effectively prevent and manage issues from arising.
• Regularly review dash cam and cab footage to help coach and train Drivers as well as collating any evidence to support collision investigations or near misses.
• Regularly run audits and spot checks on vehicle compliance, loss prevention tactics and driver suitability to work.
• Complete brief and debriefs with each Driver logging information in to the report systems and updating line managers on matters such as: Drivers scores, fuel efficiency's, ETAs and stock fill levels.

Previous experience within a transport office environment is required for this position. This role would suit someone already working in the same capacity and/or those seeking to join a company with genuine career progression opportunities to more senior transport and logistics management positions, in the future.
