A housing provider based in Nottinghamshire is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full relevant QS degree qualification, extensive experience with repairs and maintenance projects, have experience with domestic properties and ideally experience in a similar local authority or housing role.
The main purpose of the role is to provide the management function of the estimating, quantity surveying, prework surveying and project management functions on the Development works.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;
Degree in quantity surveying or HNC in Building Studies -Professional Qualification i.
e. MCIOB RICSMinimum of 3 years for a construction / Housing related organisationExperience of workload demand planning and developing resourcing strategies to deliver the work planHave good techniques and processes for tracking progress with tasks assigned to others and for dealing with delivery issuesSubstantial experience of preparing, monitoring and controlling budgets within a value for money frameworkThe main responsibilities associated with the role are as follows;
Full ownership of tenders from inception to project launch including control of all commercial and financial aspects of projectsLiaise with management to ensure commercial risks regarding insurances and terms and conditions of contract are fully understoodAbility to change specification if there is scope to do so and manage the approval of variations to contracts to ensure the continuance of work on projectsUnderstanding the clients requirementsHandover of tender to post contract team to ensure that the tender submission is clear and understoodDeliver the project financially and to a high level of client satisfactionCertify monthly interim valuations, including verifying previous payments to nominated sub-contractors and where appropriate checking materials off siteCertify and monitor variations including, managing provisional sums, contingencies etc.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £27.

£685 - £800 p/week NET after deductions).
