Support Worker - Rotherham

Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for female only applicants.  This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.

Mature lady for quiet support of three ladies in a large bungalow in Wath area.  

We are looking for someone to have the following skills:

• confidence
• able to support flexibly both in the day and at night
• excellent  people skills with the ability to recognise the signs of anxiety quickly as well as demonstrating patience and a calm approach in difficult and fast changing environment.
   
• ability to follow the guidance within support plans and work with your fellow professionals
• strong team player, valuing the people you work with and communicating well with them
• a great sense of humour and can handle a bit of banter
• creative and sociable - in particular you like to chat and pay interest in what others have to say
• good cooking/baking skills and have the ability to help teach new skills.
• ability to promote healthy living
• ability to use your initiative and come up with new ideas and places to visit and new things to do

In our service everyone has their own requirements but the type of support you will provide would be things such as shopping, cooking, eating, and drinking, laundry, personal care, cleaning, finances and medication administration.

Being a support worker isn’t just about making day to day life great, it’s about being a part of the fun! You would be supporting with accessing their community for leisure and recreation, and to maintain relationships with people who are important to them. Some hobbies and interests include – singing and dancing, shopping, going to discos and buying jewellery.  

You do not need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values.  As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.

 *The salary for this role will be increased to £10.33 per hour (a full-time annual salary of £20,144) with effect from 1 August 2022.
