Social and Emotional Support Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a Social and Emotional Support Teaching Assistant on behalf of a secondary school to support the needs of students on a small group and one to one basis alongside supporting in the mainstream classroom.

The hours of this position are 8:30-3.30pm starting as soon as possible. The school have indicated the possibility of this position turning permanent for the right candidate.

What you will need to succeed in this Social and Emotional Support Teaching Assistant role:
-Understanding of the social and emotional needs of young people
-Ability to establish a positive rapport with young people
-DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one
-A minimum of six weeks experience in a similar setting, applicants from residential care backgrounds, youth work will be considered
-Proactive nature and a willingness to learn
-Ability to work as part of a team Understanding of the needs of young people from a range of backgrounds
