Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a Social and Emotional Support Teaching Assistant on behalf of a secondary school to support the needs of students on a small group and one to one basis alongside supporting in the mainstream classroom. The hours of this position are 8:30-3.30pm starting as soon as possible. The school have indicated the possibility of this position turning permanent for the right candidate. -Understanding of the social and emotional needs of young people
-Ability to establish a positive rapport with young people
-DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one
-A minimum of six weeks experience in a similar setting, applicants from residential care backgrounds, youth work will be considered
-Proactive nature and a willingness to learn
-Ability to work as part of a team Understanding of the needs of young people from a range of backgrounds
