Team Manager - Learning Disability Team | Rhondda Cynon Taf Council

Are you an experienced and visionary Social Work leader with a passion for driving excellence in practice within Learning Disability services? Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking a highly motivated Team Practice and Development Manager to join their dedicated Learning Disability Team. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape practice, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities.

Pay Rate: £50.28 per hour

About the Role:

As the Team Practice and Development Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role in enhancing the professional development and practice standards within the Learning Disability Team. This is a non-case holding management position focused on quality assurance, practice improvement, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert guidance and support to social workers and practitioners within the Learning Disability Team.
  • Leading on practice development initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practice, statutory guidance, and local policies.
  • Overseeing complex cases and offering reflective supervision, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the service, identifying training needs, and implementing learning opportunities.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and support for individuals with learning disabilities and their families.
  • Monitoring team performance and contributing to positive team culture.
What We're Looking For:
  • A Social Work Degree or equivalent relevant degree.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience (ideally 5+ years) working with adults with learning disabilities in the UK, with proven experience in a senior practitioner or management role.
  • Registered with Social Care Wales.
  • An up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
