A great opportunity is now available for a Design Engineer to join an Engineering Company based in Aberdeen. You will be joining a company who deliver high quality products within the Oil and Gas industry, priding themselves on technical excellence and the collaborative work culture they have created. You will be joining the team and will ideally have knowledge and experience in design techniques focussing on service and equipment upgrades for equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Create 2D designs and drawings using Dassault DraftSight; familiarity with SolidWorks is advantageous.
- Produce detailed drawings for machining, weldments, assemblies, schematics, and arrangements.
- Perform basic design calculations for pressure containment and mechanical loading.
- Review and validate vendor and customer technical documentation submissions, ensuring designs offered are compliant to customer and industry specification.
- Generate Bills of Material (BoM) and valve part specifications within our ERP system.
- Reverse engineer components using standard measuring and metrology equipment.
- Develop designs in compliance with national, international, and company standards.
- Prepare technical reports for internal and customer use.

- Proficiency in CAD tools (DraftSight essential; SolidWorks desirable).

- Familiarity with ERP systems and common oilfield engineering standards (API, ASME, ISO).
Qualifications:
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in valve design or related mechanical design roles.
