A Data Scientist (they're flexible on level of experience) is required to join a well established organisation based in Aberdeen, as they enter a period of rapid growth. This will be a key role for their growth plans as they're already onboarding new clients (with even more coming!).
The company:
Based in Aberdeen, this forward thinking energy consultancy has been driving innovation in the offshore sector for over 35 years. With a strong global presence, they specialise in rig inspection, operational assurance, and digital training solutions that are helping shape the future of safe and sustainable energy operations. Their work spans traditional oil and gas through to emerging renewables, and they're known for blending deep technical expertise with cutting edge technology. Joining this team means becoming part of a mission to make the energy sector smarter, safer, and more efficient while working in a culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and real world impact.
The role:
You'll be stepping into a hands on role, at an exciting time as they have several major projects already in motion, with a good pipeline of greenfield projects on the horizon too. Some of these include using data to predict and prevent critical failures in safety equipment on offshore rigs so your work directly improves safety and reliability in some of the world's most challenging environments.
You'll be joining a small collaborative team of two Data Scientists (one Lead and one Junior) so you'll have real ownership and end to end involvement across the entire data science lifecycle where you will learn from Senior Leadership. You'll be heavily involved in data preparation, exploratory data analysis, building predictive models, evaluating models, monitoring prototypes and implementing models into client's software. Don't worry if you haven't had direct experience with this as you will be provided with continuous training to get you up to speed. This is the perfect role if you love seeing your work make a tangible difference and want to expand your knowledge and skillset.
You'll ideally have the following:
** Good programming skills (ideally Python or R)
** Knowledge and experience with databases
** Strong communication skills
It's genuinely a great time to join this organisation, as they're already well established in their sector and are continuing to grow at a rapid pace. You'll be given the opportunity to work directly with some really cutting edge technologies and processes, working closely with a dedicated Lead Data Scientist.
This role is fully onsite in Aberdeen, so you'll ideally already live within a commutable distance. Their offices are based in central Aberdeen, with great transport links and parking available onsite.
In return they're able to offer a salary from 30k to 60k, depending on level of experience / seniority, with a benefits package to match. They also have a really streamlined interview process that would be ideally carried out in just one stage onsite.
