Are you a skilled CompEx Electrician looking for your next challenge? Our client is on the lookout for two dedicated professionals to join their team for an exciting Control System Replacement Project at the Aberdeen Compressor Station. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about electrical installations in hazardous areas, we want to hear from you!

Project Details:

  • Location: Aberdeen (between Garlogie and Echt)
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Duration: 3 months (programme dependent)
  • Site Hours: 07:30 to 18:00 over a 10-day rotation (10-day fortnight starting every other Tuesday)
  • Pay Rate: Highly competitive hourly rate for suitable candidates

Key Responsibilities:As a CompEx Electrician, your expertise will be crucial in:

  • Installing electrical and instrumentation systems in potentially explosive (ATEX) atmospheres.
  • Implementing containment systems and cable installations.
  • Conducting DSEAR inspections to BS EN 60079-17 standards.
  • Performing testing of installed loops and ensuring compliance with the latest BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Safely isolating and removing redundant electrical equipment.
  • Interpreting and working from electrical drawings, schematics, and panel layouts.
  • Liaising with site management and clients to report progress, raise issues, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of health & safety and workmanship across all tasks.

Your Skills and Experiences:

Essential Qualifications:

  • CompEx EX01-04 certification (essential for work in hazardous areas).
  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, Level NVQ / SVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2022 (18th Edition).
  • City & Guilds 2391, 2394, or 2395 Inspection & Testing.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • EUSR card.
  • CSCS card.

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous area classifications and relevant regulations.
  • Confidence in working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • A methodical, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented approach.
