About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to lead their busy and dynamic fabrication team. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong background in metal fabrication and proven supervisory experience.

As Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing workloads, ensuring high-quality output, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and motivated working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of fabricators, welders, and apprentices
  • Coordinate daily workflow, allocate tasks, and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and health & safety compliance
  • Monitor production efficiency and implement improvements where necessary
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Liaise with production managers, design teams, and clients where required
  • Train and mentor workshop staff and apprentices
  • Manage stock levels of materials and consumables

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within a fabrication or engineering workshop
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding (MIG/TIG), and reading technical drawings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Forklift and crane licenses (desirable)
  • Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship)
