About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to lead our daily supply chain operations. You will ensure the smooth movement of goods across local, national, and international markets by coordinating shipments via air, sea, and road. In this role, you will maintain compliance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) standards and drive improvements in our logistics processes—all while collaborating across departments to boost operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage end-to-end logistics operations to guarantee timely and efficient delivery.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate effectively with customers, agents, and suppliers to meet delivery requirements.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively address shipment delays, damaged goods, and other logistics challenges.
- Compliance & Documentation: Oversee all shipping paperwork to ensure accuracy and adherence to HMRC and regulatory standards.
- Cost Management: Negotiate competitive freight quotes and manage invoice reconciliation.
- Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance and maintain precise records for dispatches, imports, and exports.
- Regulatory Coordination: Handle import/export documentation and facilitate the issuance of certificates (e.g., Certificates of Origin).
- Reporting & Analysis: Utilize performance metrics to create reports and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with teams such as sales, supply chain, and stores to integrate logistics with broader business strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including import/export procedures and HM Customs regulations.
- Experience with multi-modal transport logistics (domestic and international).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) coupled with strong numerical literacy.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- ADR & IMO certifications.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft D365.
