Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a company that provides comprehensive and cost-effective radiation protection services to a wide range of internationally operating industrial and non-industrial companies. They are looking for a qualified Radiation Protection Advisor to join their successful Radiation Protection team.

This integral position comes with a salary of up to 70,000, excellent opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects. You'll share new ideas between clients which satisfy the most stringent Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards to support their purpose, protecting people and planet. They also provide support and training to those keen to further develop their careers through additional professional development qualifications, such as RWA and/or DGSA certification.

Responsibilities and duties:

As the Radiation Protection Advisor you will:
  • Provide clear and concise advice to clients on radiation compliance issues.
  • Prepare and review radiation risk assessments and procedures.
  • Carry out audits - onshore and offshore - and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Teach radiation protection courses.
  • Mentor trainee RPA's to help ensure they gain their RPA2000 certification.



Professional qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A valid RPA certificate issued by RPA2000
  • Have experience providing radiation protection advice to at least one of the utilities, real estate, nuclear, technology, marine and development sectors.
  • Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) Certificate or working towards it would be an advantage.
  • DGSA certification or knowledge of Class 7 transport regulations would also be desirable.



Personal skills:

The RPA role would suit someone who has:
  • Excellent verbal, written communications, and IT Skills
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to plan your day and have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work on and offshore
