Graduate/Junior Control Systems Engineer

Location: Aberdeen (onshore office-based with regular site work, including offshore assignments)

About the Company:
A well-established engineering firm specialising in control and safety systems for the energy sector is seeking a Graduate Control Systems Engineer to join their team. The company delivers bespoke systems and support services for both new installations and modifications to existing infrastructure, with in-house electrical and cabinet assembly completed to industry standards. Although the core of their work is within oil and gas, the team is also supporting several emerging energy transition projects.

The Role:

You will be involved in delivering control system solutions for major industry operators. Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing, configuring, and testing control system software
* Producing technical documentation
* Supporting installation and commissioning activities
* Diagnosing faults and providing ongoing system support
* Working primarily with distributed control systems (DCS), as well as various PLC/SCADA platforms

Travel to onshore and offshore sites will be part of the role, so flexibility and a willingness to work offshore when required is essential.

Key Requirements:

Essential:
* A degree (BSc or BEng) in Engineering, Physics, Computing, Electronics, or a related discipline
* Basic programming knowledge
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office
* Must have the right to work in the UK

Desirable:
* Exposure to industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS)
* Understanding of electronic systems
* Knowledge of any of the following platforms or technologies:
o Emerson DeltaV
o iFIX / VTSCADA
o PLCs such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Omron

Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work independently and manage changing priorities
* Technically curious and eager to learn
* High attention to detail
* Comfortable in high-pressure environments and on-site settings
* Willing to travel and work offshore as needed
