About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and purpose-driven Finance Team, where your work will directly contribute to delivering meaningful impacts to the region. The Finance Team plays a key strategic role by enabling positive change and supporting commercial thinking through the provision of data-driven, analytical insight. This insight underpins decision-making, helping to maximise value and improve outcomes for stakeholders.

In this role, you’ll act as a Finance Business Partner, supporting the financial sustainability of a £multi million operation, helping to manage and forecast financial performance and ensuring full compliance with legislation, financial regulations, and funding covenants. You’ll contribute to a wide range of financial services, including treasury management, management and financial accounting, and project finance.

The Assistant Finance Business Partner will work closely with senior stakeholders, analyse, and report financial data that informs long-term planning, drives efficient operations, and supports growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, develop and analyse financial data to inform business planning and operational decisions
  • Support the delivery of accurate, timely management accounts and financial reports
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve financial awareness and control
  • Assist in the financial planning of development projects and new initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, financial rules and funding covenants
  • Prepare reports for review by senior finance leadership

About You

  • Experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally within a complex organisation
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Comfortable working with budgets, forecasts and financial models
  • Capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • A positive, proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
  • AAT-qualified, studying (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience will be considered
