An opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to work alongside their Finance Manager and the rest of the Finance team to provide accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting to the wider business.

This role will focus on supporting the retail business on understanding the labour costs of our operation.

Whats involved:

  • Accurate weekly reporting on wages and variance analysis
  • Wage detail broken down into regions, area and stores – highlighting and understanding variances to budget
  • Understanding and analysing the cost of servicing our sales channels (instore, delivered sales) from a labour cost perspective
  • Trend analysis on indirect wage lines – pro actively highlighting any risks and opportunities
  • Assisting in the production of group budgets and forecasts – building the group store wage budget from the bottom up and then reporting on the weekly performance top down.
  • Weekly reconciliation of our wage control balance sheets – reconciling weekly pay postings against monthly payroll.
  • Working alongside our workforce management and IT department to analyse wage performance and improve wage reporting.

What’s needed:

  • Qualified (or part) accountant
  • Strong analytical skills and a inquisitive nature
  • Competent in use of excel for data analysis
  • SQL / Azure knowledge preferable
  • Microsoft D365 experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to highlight opportunities and add value.

  • Takes responsibility for own actions and results
  • Ability to prioritise workload
