The Opportunity:

Are you a part-qualified accountant looking to progress your career within a supportive and forward-thinking accountancy practice? We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded firm in Oxfordshire who are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying ACA or ACCA, with previous practice experience, to gain broad exposure to a wide variety of clients and service areas – from statutory accounts and tax to audit and advisory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

  • Assisting on audits, including planning, fieldwork, and completion

  • Preparing corporation tax and VAT returns

  • Supporting more senior team members with complex work and advisory projects

  • Liaising directly with clients, building strong and trusted relationships

  • Supporting junior staff and reviewing work where appropriate

  • Ensuring all work complies with the firm’s quality standards and current legislation

What We’re Looking For:
  • ACA or ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent), with ongoing study

  • Previous experience working in a UK accountancy practice (minimum 1-2 years)

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, UK GAAP and ideally FRS 102

  • Some audit exposure would be an advantage, but not essential

  • Strong IT skills – experience with cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks or IRIS is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, client-focused approach

  • Organised, detail-oriented, and keen to learn and progress
