  • The position involves collaborating with P&T engineers and governance teams to create and refine processes that facilitate rapid delivery without compromising quality.
  • Key responsibilities include developing actionable governance processes, creating practical materials, and driving the adoption of digital tools to streamline operations.
  • The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

The process support engineer will focus on enabling the Prototype & Testing (P&T) team to operate at pace while remaining aligned with STEP's engineering governance. This role ensures that the processes, tools, and governance mechanisms needed by P&T are surfaced, developed, and integrated into the wider programme framework without slowing delivery.

Operating in a fast-moving environment, the role holder will work directly with P&T engineers and programme governance teams to define, implement, and continuously improve fit-for-purpose processes. They will act as the key interface between P&T and the engineering governance layer, ensuring that local needs are met while maintaining cohesion across the STEP programme.

This role will provide a broad range of hands on support, building practical solutions, highlighting opportunities to develop digital workflows, and structured documentation that allow P&T to deliver prototypes and tests efficiently and compliantly. The role holder will champion proportional, scalable governance that supports innovation and rapid iteration.

Key Responsibilities
Accountability 1: Develop and Implement P&T Process Enablers

Translate programme-level governance into actionable processes for P&T, ensuring clarity and usability.
Create practical materials, templates, artefacts that embed and reflect P&T needs into governance
Work closely with P&T leads to tailor governance for prototype and test environments while maintaining alignment with STEP standards.
Drive adoption of governance through digital PLM tools and other enabling systems, reducing administrative burden and maximising engineering time.

Accountability 2: Enable Continuous Improvement

Maintain and update P&T governance processes through-life, ensuring they remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with programme objectives.
Ensure proportionality; governance by balancing compliance with speed of delivery.
Collaborate with whole-plant partners and programme governance teams to ensure P&T processes integrate seamlessly into the broader STEP ecosystem.
