Quantity Surveyor – Fit-Out Project Location: Oxford Contract Type: Freelance / ContractStart Date: ImmediateDuration: 20 weeks (with potential for extension)Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days/week (site-based)£360 to £410 per day About the ProjectWe are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a live internal office and laboratory fit-out project located in OxfordRole OverviewYou will take ownership of the commercial duties, while also supporting the main project alongside an existing QS. The role is site-based and client-facing, requiring a confident and capable QS who can work independently and collaboratively.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement of ~20 subcontract packages
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations (approx. 3)
  • Track and price variations (VOs), seek instructions, and agree costs
  • Raise and chase client invoices
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and payments
  • Prepare and agree final account
  • Contribute to contractor reports for client presentations
  • Liaise with CM, PM, SM, design and client teams
  • Maintain and update procurement schedule
  • Attend client/design team meetings as required
  • Update O&M contacts for outsource company

Candidate Profile
  • Intermediate to Project-level QS (not trainee/assistant)
  • Strong experience in fit-out projects (lab/office preferred)
  • Confident in client-facing and commercial duties
  • Able to work independently and within a team
